Notice:

The blood drive scheduled for 12/09/12 has been cancelled.

The next blood drive will take place on February 10, 2013.

Note the following message from the Blood Center

As stewards of the communities blood supply our job is to maintain a safe and sufficient blood supply at all times. Due to the great response of our donors recently, our inventories for most blood types are at a sufficient level at this time. The blood types that we currently still needed are A negative, B negative and O negative. In fact, we could use your help in having your staff, family and/or friends with type O-, A- or B- come to one of our 12 donor centers conveniently located throughout Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Manatee counties. They can even make an appointment at by calling or visiting us on line.

Devotion 12-6-12

Good morning,

And aren’t we glad to see a new morning?  Is it just me or do things have a way of seeming worse at night?  Yet there is no light or darkness to the Lord.  He is the same and is with us regardless of the time of day or night.

Sometimes we forget to ask the basic questions.  Such as when I was told last evening that my husband was being sent to the hospital.  Since he was in the Veteran’s Nursing Home, I assumed he’d be going to the VA Hospital.  When my mind cleared I decided to verify that, only to learn he was in the one closer to me and a new one at that.  What a relief to actually be able to talk to my husband who reassured me that all was well.  He told me not to come till morning.  Many times it is the small things that can make such a difference.

Sometimes we consider the greatest things “small” when in fact, they are they are the opposite.   Such as prayer and knowing when you don’t know how to pray for yourself there are others who are lifting you up before the throne.  And the Lord says to us as He did to Zerubbabel in Zechariah 4:6:  “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”

Father, we thank You that in our weakness You shine through the greatest.  Increase our faith and give us the strength and wisdom needed for each decision we have to make.  We thank You Lord, for Your people who lift us up in prayer.  May they be richly blessed by Your grace.  And may You be glorified in all we say and do.  We give thanks in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

In His service,
Fran
