Devotion 12-7-12
On this day we remember Pearl Harbor and the trouble brought to our country in a time of war. There is always going to be something that wants to rob us of our peace.
But we have these wonderful words of Jesus in John 16:33: “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” And it is because He overcame the world from the cross that I have the strength and peace to face each day.
God, as we accept the fact that some wars are within, we thank You that You can give us peace in the midst. Help us to see and to reflect You and Your peace in each situation in which we find ourselves. For we remember “the battle is not ours, but Yours.” In the name of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
In His service,
Fran

Hi everyone –
Wanted to let you know that TJ is doing well after his surgery….so much so that they are letting him go home 2 days early. Still need prayers for no complications during recovery so they can start chemo no later than January 7th. They do not know why there are so many tumors and his cancer is so aggressive so we need chemo to start sooner than later. Prayers that he stays well, no complications and of course for a miracle.
I have attached a photo of the family…the kids were finally able to visit for a short bit yesterday at Moffitt….very joyful moment, especially for the 2 yr old daughter.
THANK YOU
Jamie
Update on Paul Mobley 12-6-12
It’s been quite a day. Paul has had several tests and I’ve talked to everyone except the oncologist and tomorrow Dr. Patel wants me to talk to someone from Hospice. We know the reason for all the bleeding Paul’s had has been because of the large tumor in the pelvic area. The I.V. helped clear up the urine.
Paul’s had some confusion today but think that will be better after he finally got something to eat tonight about 5:30. This new hospital is wonderful and is like going to a nice hotel. However, Paul told them he wasn’t too happy being at the Holiday Inn.
Once again thanks for the prayers. Paul is in isolation and you have to put on gown, etc. to get into his room. Besides the Norwalk virus he also has Mersa and some other thing. So don’t want anyone exposed.
Thanks for the prayers.
Love,
Frances
